the soup kitchen

Open to those in need every Sunday from 1:00pm -2:30 pm. Closed five times a year, on every 5th Sunday of the month.

The Haws Avenue Soup Kitchen was started on January 2nd, 2000 and serves a meal to those in need every Sunday throughout the year. The Soup Kitchen also holds a Christmas Dinner annually on Christmas Day, which is hosted by Victory Church and over 100 members of the community attend each year. Currently, ten teams volunteer at Haws Avenue to cook and serve meals. The teams are comprised of members of Haws Avenue UMC as well as members of other churches both in and outside of Norristown. The goal of The Soup Kitchen is to make our guests feel welcome and to show them the hands and feet of God in action.

the Daisy shop

Open every Tuesday and Friday from 9:00AM - 1:00PM.

The Daisy Shop is Haws Avenue's thrift shop. The shop is open every Tuesday and Friday from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM and all proceeds raised go directly to supporting the missions of Haws Avenue. Moderately priced goods for sale at The Daisy Shop include clothing, shoes, handbags, books, toys, jewelry, kitchen and household items as well as some personal care items. We invite you to donate to The Daisy Shop, stop by to shop our inventory or volunteer and participate in fellowship with us!

the interfaith clothing room

Those in need of clothing can come to our Interfaith Clothing Room from 11:00 AM - 1:oo PM every Thursday. 

The Interfaith Clothing Room is a ministry of Haws Avenue UMC and was born out of The Soup Kitchen. On any Thursday, those in need of clothing can come to The Interfaith Clothing Room, which is located in The Haws Avenue Church, and receive assistance in the form of clothing, shoes, toys, appliances, games etc.

the food pantry

Open each month on the third Thursday (6pm-7:30pm) and the fourth Saturday (10am - 12:30pm)

Our Food Pantry if open to those who live in Norristown on the west side of Markley Street. It is open the third Thursday of each month from 6:00 pm - 7: 30 pm and the fourth Saturday of each month from 10:00 am - 12:30 PM.
